Dr. Lauretta Brennan earned bachelor degrees in Psychology and the Biological Basis of Behavior from the University of Pennsylvania before earning her Ph.D. in Clinical and Developmental Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh. She completed her clinical internship and postdoctoral training at the Kennedy Krieger Institute, where she specialized in child and family therapy. Dr. Brennan is a licensed Clinical Psychologist in Virginia.
Dr. Brennan has experience helping children, adolescents, and their families address various individual and family relational challenges, including anxiety, depression, behavioral difficulties, and strained parent-child relationships, from an evidence-based perspective. Dr. Brennan has extensive training in cognitive-behavioral techniques; she also incorporates family systems, dialectical, and acceptance and commitment techniques into her treatment, as appropriate. In addition to psychotherapy, Dr. Brennan provides psychological assessment services.
Dr. Brennan is married and has a young son. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, running, and traveling.
