Dr. Mona Kalhor, Psy.D

Dr. Kalhor is a licensed clinical Psychologist and forensic Evaluator with 20 years of experience in forensic hospitals in major forensic hospitals and prisons in five states.
She obtained her MBA, and Psychology degree from Florida International University (FIU) and her MS and Doctoral Degree in clinical and forensic psychology from Carlos Albizu University (CAU).

My theoretical orientation, which is very much influenced by humanistic and existential psychology, should enable me to reach my goals in dealing with clients. I believe that people in general develop their personalities in the service of positive goals and that we are born with certain innate capabilities, capacities, or potentialities. My therapeutic approach promotes healing by emotional and psychological awareness to enable one to experience life as a whole. 
I place great importance on therapist/client relationship as it is the most important factors in healing process that is based on trust, unconditional acceptance, warmth and utilizing specific therapeutic techniques tailored to your specific need and preference.  
I am a generalist, meaning that I work with clients from Adolescents to adulthood, in individual, family, couple’s, and grouptherapy. I see clients dealing with issues including anxiety, conflict, depression, and relationship difficulties. In addition, I have an interest working with Middle Eastern, minorities and those who have been victim of hate crimes or harassment at work.
