William Martin, Psy.D

Dr. Marty Martin is a licensed clinical psychologist with specialized training in health psychology, behavioral sleep medicine, and psycho-oncology. As a prostate cancer survivor, Dr. Martin brings both professional expertise and lived experience to supporting individuals and families navigating serious medical conditions. His journey into behavioral sleep medicine began after experiencing two transportation accidents within three months, a head-on car collision and train derailment, both caused by drowsy operators with sleep disorders, transforming personal trauma into professional purpose.

Dr. Martin provides comprehensive psycho-oncology services across all stages of the cancer journey: pre-diagnosis, recently diagnosed, during treatment, post-treatment, and long-term survivorship. Using evidence-based approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy for cancer distress (CBT-C) and cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), he helps patients manage anxiety and depression, develop coping strategies, navigate treatment decisions, and improve quality of life. Drawing from his background in human resources management, financial planning and experience with health plans, Dr. Martin uniquely addresses the often-overlooked career, retirement, financial and insurance stressors that accompany serious illness, helping patients navigate complex healthcare systems while reducing the burden of medical-related career, retirement, and financial anxiety.
