Dr. Neal earned his B.A. in psychology from American University and his Ph.D. in clinical – community psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park. He completed a clinical internship in children and adolescents at the Regional Institute for Children and Adolescents- Cheltenham and another clinical internship in adult medical psychology at the Johns Hopkins University Hospital. Dr. Neal has more than twenty five years of experience in clinical and forensic practice working with adults, children, adolescents, couples and families in clinic, private practice and hospital settings. He has also participated in research and lectured at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine as a part-time faculty member.
As a member of the Potomac Center Inc. staff since 1992, he is comfortable using cognitive-behavioral or more psychodynamic psychotherapy approaches to work with diverse clients on a variety of clinical or personal issues.
