Scott Krysztofiak Psy.D

Dr. Scott Krysztofiak is a licensed clinical psychologist in the Commonwealth of Virginia. He received his B.A. in Psychology and M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Towson University. Dr. Krysztofiak obtained his Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from The American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University, Washington, DC.

Dr. Krysztofiak trained in a variety of mental health settings including inpatient, substance abuse, community mental health, and private practice. He provides psychotherapy and psychological assessment to adults presenting with a wide range of mental health concerns. Dr. Krysztofiak adopts an integrative approach when working with clients in order to address their specific needs. He practices primarily from a cognitive-behavioral approach, but will move into more psychodynamic and experiential approaches if such interventions are aligned with the client’s therapeutic goals.

In addition to working as a clinical psychologist, Dr. Krysztofiak is an assistant professor at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Washington, DC. He has conducted research on the effectiveness HIV-prevention interventions, and he enjoys providing didactic training’s to Clinical Psychology graduate students.
